The Adventure
In October 2019, Mindful Habits was born in the shape of a dissertation for a MSc in Psychology. We studied online mindfulness as a coping mechanism for DP IB students.
After a thorough literature review, we noticed that due to the high prevalence of mental health conditions, social media use, future uncertainty and high expectations, being a teenager in the 21st century is a challenging experience.
However, adolescence is also a time of huge potential where youth can thrive and improve the world, if given the right tools. The vast literature concerned with mindfulness has shown that it is a robust intervention to increase wellbeing by training the mind to pay attention in the present moment, resulting in better concentration and focus (Dunning et al., 2019).
Although we work mainly with children and young adults, we welcome opportunities from adults or companies.
